One of Calanus® fantastic properties is their ability to provide carotenoids required by fish to show colouration, in tropical fish the main two species which are renowned for beautiful colours are Discus and Cichlids. Calanus® can be fed to these fish at all stages of life from larvae to adult and will enhance the colouration as well as providing them with many valuable nutrients that other foods cannot provide.
Blood red Cichlids and Flowerhorn varieties respond extremely well to Calanus® these man-made cichlid species require Carotenoids to bring out the red pimentation in their flesh. Due to the high astaxanthin content of Calanus® this species can now be reared from newly hatched fry to adult status using the Calanus® feed system.
Calanus® is suitable for feeding to many types of tropical freshwater fish and shrimp and we are sure that regular feeding will benefit them all in the long term.
